Compare energy, broadband, mobiles and more for money saving deals, say NO to April’s price increases. If you notice your bills rise each April, you are not alone, April is the month that utility companies and other service providers introduce price increases for energy, broadband and mobile phones.

This April broadband and mobile phone services applying ‘mid-contract price rises’ include BT, EE, O2, Sky, Three, Virgin Media and Vodafone. Some companies have confirmed price increases of over 6%, adding £2 to £3 on the average monthly bill.

Historic increases were based on retail price index (RPI) or consumer price index (CPI), around 3.9%, plus up to 3% to account for inflation and increased business costs. Ofcom banned percentage increases, so broadband & mobile service providers must now notify customers of increases as an amount in pounds, not as a percentage.

Customers often don’t notice increases until bills arrive towards the end of April or beginning of May. But if you’re out of contract for any services it’s perfect time to shop around to see if you can get a better deal and beat the price increases.

Switch to a cheaper broadband deal

Millions of broadband customers are currently out of contract and possibly paying too much for broadband.

Our broadband price comparison currently has nationally available broadband deals for £25 or less per month. What’s more if you live in a fibre connected property you could get fibre broadband for even less.

Some superfast fibre deals are available for less than £20 per month (Community Fibre, Gigaclear & 4thUtility). You could save in excess of £100 by taking a few minutes to find a cheaper broadband provider.

Upgrade your phone & switch to a cheaper mobile tariff

While it’s nice to get a phone upgrade, it can lead you to paying more per month than you need to for mobile services.
Do you really need an upgrade?
Could you save by switching to a cheap sim only deal?

If you’re out of contract it’s a perfect time to see if you can get a better deal on another network, or see what offers are available for a new phone contract with your existing network. Try our mobile phone comparison, see if you can save with great money saving mobile phone deals.

If you’re happy with your old phone consider switching your phone contract  over to cheaper sim only deal. These can drastically reduce your monthly costs based on a like-for-like calls, data and texts deal.

Don’t continue paying for an expensive monthly contract if you don’t intend to make use of phone upgrades. Sim only deals with unlimited data, calls and texts start from as little as £12.50 per month, switch to a cheaper mobile deal today!

Switch to a cheaper energy tariff

There’s even more bad news as the 6.4% increase in the energy price cap has now kicked in. This represents a rise from £1,738 to £1,849 for the average household’s annual energy bills.

It’s a good time to compare energy deals and lock in a cheaper energy tariff.

Octopus Energy & Utility Warehouse offer some of the best deals on electricity & gas via standard variable tariffs. Outfox The Market & e-on have some of the  lowest ‘fixed rate’ energy deals.

Don’t put up with high bills, see if you can find a cheaper energy deal today!
